Could a haunted house attraction be coming to Legoland Windsor in 2019?
The fantastic team over at SouthParks has recently found new information regarding a new haunted house attraction, coming to Legoland Windsor in the future. The park has submitted an application to the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council to make amendments to the submitted and approved application for this new attraction.
So what’s changed from the original plans? The first and most noticeable change is that two family drop towers located inside the haunted house have been removed and replaced with a turning room type of attraction. Merlin Entertainments are currently operating a ride of this type at Alton Towers Resort under the name of Hex: The Legend Of The Towers. These type of attractions are fully themed and immersive which is all centred around a storyline. The new attraction has also had some changes to the building facade with new lego balloons a sign saying “Welcome To Our Monster Party”. When you compare this to the original plans, it is a much more fun and friendly version of what you would expect from a haunted house attraction. Perhaps after doing some research, the park concluded that the original ride was too scary for the parks younger visitors. There have also been some small changes to the rides queue line which is now more compact and efficient.
Although the park hasn’t officially announced this ride yet, construction has already started on the site where this new attraction is planned to be built. I reckon this new ride will be built and finished for the start of the 2019 season.
This should be a fantastic addition to the resorts line up, and we are very excited to try this out when it opens!
